This song was the first song I ever wrote for as ingo. It started outlike not as Seafood. The line "eating seafood in the rain' was, at first "I want to take you away." The clanging insipid nature of that line thankfully caused it to be replaced.
I remember recording it was a joy. Ben built up the guitar parts on at a time. First the floor/kick drum, then the snare and so on. Matt excelled himself by playing the drum breakbeat that can be hear between the chorus and the second verse. All topped off with Hank coming up with a killer slide guitar part that was his first recorded work for 15 or so years. Love Heads production. Not my finest song but one of my favorite recordings.
